Tasty Easy To Cook Nutritious Food For Breakfast Lunch Dinner _ Recipe

TURNIP  (SMASHED)

  



 



6 small turnips 750g.

 

4 tablespoons vegetable oil

½ teaspoon ground turmeric

 

¼ teaspoon ground red pepper 

 

½ teaspoon salt

 

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ cup (65 ml) water

1 tablespoon unsalted butter or vegan buttery spread

 

1 first wash the turnips.  Peel all turnip. Cut each turnip into 8 pieces. 

 

2 Next pour the oil into a medium saucepan and place over medium heat. When the oil is heated, add the turnips, turmeric, red pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

 

3 Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the saucepan. Cook for 10 minutes, stir occasionally.

 

4 Add the water. Cook covered until the turnips become completely soft and mashed, stirring occasionally and mashing the turnips with a large spoon, about 25 to 30 minutes.

 

5 Add the butter. Stir to combine until the butter is melted. Enjoy your smashed turnip
