SUGAR TART- FRENCH DESSERT


 



     

2 tablespoons dry yeast

 

1/3 cup ( about 100ml) warm milk

 

1/2 pound (About 225g) flour

 

3 eggs

 

1/4 cup superfine white sugar (About 30g) 

( put granulated sugar in a blender)

 

1/2 teaspoon fine salt

 

9 tablespoons butter

 

2/3 cup brown sugar (about 85g)

 

1 cup heavy cream

 

·         First In a small bowl, dilute yeast with a pinch of sugar and the warm milk. Put the flour in to a larger bowl. Make a well in the center and break 1 egg in it. Then  add sugar, salt, yeast mixture, and 6 tablespoons cold butter, diced. Knead it well and form a smooth ball of dough. Then  Cover it and  let it rise for 3 hours.

 

·         Now you have to preheat oven to 450°F.

 

·        Press the dough, roll it out. Then put it into a high-sided round baking dish. Spread brown sugar evenly over the dough.

·        Whisk remaining 2 eggs, heavy cream, and remaining butter in  bowl.. Pour over brown sugar. Bake  25 minutes.

 

     Now your sugar tart is ready. Let it cool some time before you serve it.

     This is enough for six .

 

What is tart.

A tart is a baked dish, It consists of a filling over a pastry base with an open top. The top is  not covered with pastry. Usually the pastry is short crust pastry. The filling is (may be) sweet or savory. Modern tarts are usually fruit-based, sometimes with custard.
